The i2i Workshop brings experts from academia, industry, and tech to NYU Langone’s campus for discussions about the latest breakthroughs in imaging hardware, software, image analysis, and image-guided therapy.

Suggested Topics

We welcome abstracts with technical or clinical focus on one or more of the following research areas:

  • imaging of tissue microstructure
  • machine learning and deep learning in biomedical imaging
  • foundation models in radiology

If you wish to submit an abstract on a different topic, write the organizers at i2iworkshop@nyulangone.org using the subject line: Abstract Topic Inquiry.

Length and Format

Limit your abstract—including all text, images, tables, graphs, and references—to one U.S.-letter or A4 page. Use Arial font, 9-point or larger. Set text in a single column.

Include all the following sections in the given order:

  1. Abstract Title
  2. Author List
  3. Purpose (motivations or aims of the research)
  4. Methods
  5. Results (principal data and statistical analysis)
  6. Discussion (data interpretation)
  7. Conclusion (relevance to clinical practice or further research)

References are optional.

Submissions

Email your abstract to i2iworkshop@nyulangone.org, with the subject line: Abstract for 2026 i2i Workshop.

In the body of the email include the following information:

  1. Presenter’s name: last name in all capitals followed by a comma and first name capitalized, e.g., SMITH, Mary or JOHNSON, William R.
  2. Presenter’s position: faculty, post-doc, fellow, resident, graduate student, undergraduate student, or other (specify).
  3. Abstract title.
  4. List of financial conflicts of interest if such exist. Otherwise, an assertion that there are no such conflicts.

Dates and Deadlines

Deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, July 1 Sunday, July 19, 2026, 11:59 EDT.

Notifications will be emailed by Friday, July 31, 2026.

Why attend the i2i Workshop?

At the i2i Workshop, we take the latest research breakthroughs as a point of departure to ask big questions about the future of biomedical imaging. Our inaugural meeting in 2016 featured sessions titled “our dream scanners” and “the information tsunami.” The 2018 workshop included sessions dedicated to portable MRI scanners and emerging flexible RF coil technologies. The 2023 sessions explored a broad look at vision, sight, and imaging across modalities, length scales, and domains of inquiry.

Two Days Packed with Science

The i2i Workshop packs two days chock full of scientific sessions and evening events. Plenaries, keynotes, talks, and poster sessions are held at NYU Langone Health. Evening events have involved dinner receptions on the East River, a cruise around New York harbor, and cocktails on the Intrepid, an aircraft carrier turned museum, permanently docked on the Hudson River.
