Birdcage coils are resonant circuits that operate with a specific current pattern at specific frequencies and are tuned by choosing the proper capacitor values. For a given coil geometry (length and number of legs, cross-sectional shape of legs and end-rings, radii of coil and shield), a simple method to compute the mutual inductances in a birdcage coil, and to determine the capacitors needed to make the coil able to resonate at a specific frequency, has been included in a software package, BirdcageBuilder, which has become one of the tools most used by RF coil designers. The current verison of BirdcageBuilder Mobile is for the Android Operating System. In the future it will be ported to other common mobile operating systems, including iOS. Installation Guide

Recommended Android version: 2.0 and above.

1. Copy the .apk file on the SD card.
2. Download and install ASTRO File Manager from the Android Market.
3. Open ASTRO File Manager, and locate the .apk file to install.
4. Tap on it, and then tap on "Open App Manager".
5. Tap on Install.
6. The application is now available in the app list.
