Postdoctoral Fellow in Quantitative MRI and Biomechanics of Skeletal Muscle Aging

The Center for Advanced Imaging Innovation and Research at NYU Langone Health invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in quantitative MRI and biomechanics of skeletal muscle aging. The postdoctoral fellow will focus on the development, testing, and validation of fast quantitative musculoskeletal MRI methods and/or acquisition and analysis of biomechanics data with the aim of advancing the understanding of the aging processes in skeletal muscle.

The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to leading-edge research on musculoskeletal imaging with the potential to improve muscle health across the human lifespan. The research team includes imaging scientists, radiologists, geriatricians, and physical therapists.

Expected Qualifications

We are seeking a self-driven, creative, and collaborative scientist who is passionate about acquiring new skills and conducting interdisciplinary research. The ideal candidate holds a PhD or MD/PhD degree with a background in biomedical engineering, biomedical physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Desirable but not required skills include experience in deep learning, muscle physiology, MRI pulse sequence programming, or musculoskeletal imaging.

CAI2R (pronounced care) comprises approximately 150 full-time personnel dedicated to imaging research, development, and clinical translation. Our team is diverse and highly collaborative.
