Research Interest: 

A graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Lui completed her radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at NYU. Her research expertise is in the use of novel MR imaging techniques to study the central nervous system and she leads a NIH-funded research program on brain injury.

Dr. Lui is faculty at the School of Medicine and Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lui is an expert in the imaging of concussion, leading both the clinical imaging services for patients with head injury here at NYU as well as leading a multidisciplinary translational research team using novel MR imaging techniques to study metabolic, functional and tissue structural alterations after injury.

Dr. Lui is a leader in neuroradiology: She is a charter member of the NIH scientific review committee for Medical Imaging; She serves as Senior Editor for the American Journal of Neuroradiology and reviews for seven other academic journals; She is Past President of the New York Roentgen Society.

Dr. Lui has a lifelong commitment to providing state-of-the-art clinical care, cutting-edge imaging research and top-notch education for our medical trainees. She previously served as Fellowship Program Director of the Neuroradiology Fellowship here at NYU. She developed curricula which are validated in the literature and currently used by over two dozen fellowship training programs throughout North America. She is the recipient of teaching prizes both here at NYU and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and RSNA Visiting Professor to the People’s Republic of China in 2008. She has mentored numerous medical students, residents and fellows locally and also participated in national mentoring programs through the ASNR and RSNA.
