Postdoctoral Fellow in Radiofrequency Coil Development

Our Center invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in radiofrequency coil development in the department of radiology at NYU Langone Health. The fellow will join a team that develops applications of multinuclear MRI to breast cancer.

Multinuclear MRI has the unique ability to monitor metabolic function, which is disrupted in cancer cells. Our team is developing new radiofrequency coils, pulse sequences, and postprocessing schemes aimed at identifying the patients with breast cancer who have the greatest likelihood of responding favorably to treatment. In this research project, we are also working in close partnership with clinicians to develop a multinuclear imaging protocol for 3 Tesla MRI systems.

The postdoctoral fellow will focus on coil development, and will work with a multidisciplinary group of physicists, imaging experts, and radiologists.

  • A PhD in engineering, physics, biomedical sciences or a related field.
  • Radiofrequency coil research experience.
  • Experience with hands-on radiofrequency coil construction.
  • A publication record.
  • Experience with design and manufacture of circuit boards.
  • Fluency in high-level software, such as MATLAB, CAD, and electromagnetic simulators.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Siemens or other MRI platforms is a plus.
