The Center for Advanced Imaging Innovation and Research at NYU Langone Health invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in quantitative magnetization transfer imaging focused on clinical translation and data analysis.
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team working on the development of quantitative magnetization transfer and relaxometry methods for neuroimaging and multiple sclerosis (MS). The aim of the research project is to develop and evaluate MS-specific pulse sequences and image reconstruction techniques by building on novel biophysical models and pulse sequence concepts inspired by MR fingerprinting. The project involves a translational study with approximately 200 scans of participants with multiple sclerosis and healthy controls.
Responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow will oversee this study together with the principal investigator Jakob Assländer, PhD, and analyze the data in collaboration with clinical partners.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in physics, biomedical sciences, engineering, computer science, or a related field
- MRI research experience
- Programming skills, preferably in Python, MATLAB, Julia, and/or C++
Preferred Qualifications
- Translational research experience
- Experience with neurodegenerative disease, especially with MS
- Experience with image processing software, such as freeSurfer
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in translational research, neurodegenerative disease (especially MS), and/or image processing software such as freeSurfer. We also encourage applications from candidates with strong general MRI backgrounds and an interest in learning the required skills.
