Our Center invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of radiology at NYU Langone Health. The fellow will join a team working on the development of high-impact applications of low-field MRI.
Low-field MRI has the potential to increase the role of MR imaging in preventive health and broaden access to MRI worldwide. Our team is exploring new low-field techniques, technologies, and methodologies focused on actionable end-point information—such as brain atrophy metrics and lesion detection—rather than the traditional goal of improving visual image quality. We aim to develop and evaluate an integrated imaging approach in which data acquisition, image reconstruction, segmentation, and analysis are tailored to each other end-to-end. The project spans technical development and clinical application, requiring a high level of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- PhD in physics, biomedical sciences, computer science, or a related field
- MRI research experience
- Programming skills, preferably in MATLAB, Python, Julia, and/or C++
- Experience with PyTorch is a plus
CAI2R (pronounced care) comprises approximately 150 full-time personnel dedicated to imaging research, development, and clinical translation. Our team is diverse and highly collaborative. We work in interdisciplinary, matrixed groups that include engineers, scientists, clinicians, technologists, and industry experts.
Joining us means becoming part of a diverse community that values cross-pollination of ideas, celebrates creativity, and nurtures an environment conducive to breakthrough innovations.
The Center for Advanced Imaging Innovation and Research (CAI2R) is supported by the NIH and operated by the department of radiology at NYU Langone Health.
Our instrumentation includes a low field 0.55 Tesla Siemens MRI system and an ultra-low-field 0.064 Tesla Hyperfine Swoop head-only portable scanner. Learn more about our research facilities.
