Women in Cancer Research Scholar Award presented to graduate student Giselle Suero

The "Women In Cancer Research (WICR) Scholar Award" was presented to Giselle Suero for her paper on Early tumor detection and characterization of a novel mouse model of Shh-driven medulloblastoma using contrast-enhanced micro-MRI..

As a graduate research assistant in the Turnbull Lab, Giselle received the award based on her CV, a letter of recommendation from Dr. Turnbull and for her research work entitled: " Early tumor detection and characterization of a novel mouse model of Shh-driven medulloblastoma using contrast-enhanced micro-MRI" a work in collaboration with the Alex Joyner laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and the Praveen Raju laboratory at Weill Cornell Medical College. The final selection is made based on the AACR (American Association of Cancer Research) Annual Meeting Program Committee’s rating of her proffered paper and recommendations from the WICR Scholar Award Selection Committee. She will receive the award and a $1,000 scholarship to help defray the costs of participation in the the AACR Annual Meeting, which will take place April 5-10, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
